This family of sensors is specially designed for self-cleaning. The sensing end has a flat surface pH membrane or ORP sensor. This provides long life due to its rugged construction. The flat surface is beneficial because it does not collect suspended solids, and its self-cleaning ability by the flow of the process over the electrode provides a clean electrode surface. The reference is gel-filled and requires no pressurization.
